Some favorites include The Naked and the Dead by Norman Mailer, Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand, A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving. The last book I read was The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald and before that was Ham on Rye by Charles Bukowski.
